Julia Lippold is an experienced English and EAL educator, curriculum leader, and VCAA assessor with over twenty years’ experience across independent and government schools. She specialises in senior secondary teaching, EAL program development, and the design of rigorous, inclusive curriculum that supports learners to achieve at a high level.
As a VCE EAL assessor and contributor to the VCAA Examination Development Reviewing Panel, Julia brings deep expertise in assessment standards, exam design, and the features of high-performing student responses. Her work is grounded in a clear understanding of what enables students to succeed in high-stakes contexts.
At Lauriston Girls’ School, she has led the development of a comprehensive Years 7–12 EAL program and designed strategic wellbeing frameworks that support both academic achievement and student growth. Her students consistently achieve strong outcomes in VCE English and EAL.
Julia contributes actively to the wider profession through curriculum consultation with VCAA, conference presentations, and the development of senior English/EAL resources, including a Year 12 textbook and various VCE study guides.
Recognised as one of The Educator’s Most Influential Educators, Julia is driven by a belief that language and literature empower students to think critically and flourish both academically and personally.
